Part of this is sensory — a physical photo has texture, weight, and presence. It exists in three-dimensional space and requires physical interaction. Part of this is permanence — a physical photo book does not require electricity, internet connection, a compatible device, or a maintained subscription. It simply exists, available to anyone who picks it up, regardless of what technology exists at the time of viewing.
