The BGC clients we work with most often

Wedding photo books from BGC couples married at Shangri-La at the Fort, Raffles Makati, or at destination weddings in Bali, Tagaytay, or Cebu — the photos coming back from the photographer in a Dropbox folder of two thousand high-resolution files no one ever opens twice. Couples who already have the digital albums in beautiful Adobe-edited form, but want one hardcover book on the coffee table that says: this happened.

Baby milestone and first birthday books from young BGC families — the millennial-and-younger demographic who document everything in the camera roll and want a single physical artifact that will outlast the iCloud subscription. We do these books often, and the request is almost always the same: please make this look nothing like a Shutterfly book.

And books that travel. The most common BGC commission we receive is from an adult child living in Park Avenue or Forbeswood whose parents live in the province or abroad — Iloilo, Bacolod, Cebu, San Francisco, Toronto, the UAE. They commission the book in BGC and we ship it directly to the parents' address. The book arrives at the parents' home on a Tuesday morning. The video call later that day is the gift.

Design language: closer to a museum monograph than a scrapbook

Our default design treatment runs in a particular direction. Generous white space. Pages with one or two photos rather than six or eight. Editorial typography. No graphic flourishes, no decorative borders, no clip-art icons. The composition is closer to what you would see in a Phaidon photography monograph than what you would see at a self-serve photo book site.

Many BGC clients pick us specifically because that aesthetic matches the way they already think about design. The book is intended to live on a coffee table in a Park Avenue unit alongside an Aperture photography volume and a Kinfolk back issue, and it should not look out of place. We can adapt the treatment if a client wants something warmer or more decorative for a particular project — we have done plenty of richly-designed wedding books too — but the baseline is restrained.

BGC condo delivery: front desk handover

Most BGC and McKinley Hill towers require front desk drop-off rather than direct-to-unit delivery. We coordinate with this. Tell us your tower name — Serendra, Forbeswood, Bellagio, Park Avenue, Verve, Two Serendra, Grand Hyatt Residences, Trion Towers, One McKinley Place — and your unit number. The courier hands the package to your front desk; the front desk notifies you; you pick up at your convenience. The book ships in a sturdy outer box with the hardcover wrapped in protective packaging.

The BGC couple commissioning a book for parents back home

This is the single most common BGC project we see. Two thirty-something professionals, both well-traveled, often having lived abroad before returning to Manila, now based in BGC. The wedding happened a year ago, or the baby was born six months ago, or the parents are turning seventy this December. The book is for the parents — not for the BGC couple themselves. They want it to arrive at the parents' home, not theirs.

We coordinate the whole project from BGC. The shared Google Drive folder, the proof review, the design conversation. The finished book ships directly to the parents at whatever address you specify — a province, an OFW destination, a relative's house. The BGC clients see the book only as a digital proof during the design phase; the parents see it for the first time when they open the package.
